It takes a little time for Yui to get used to not hearing a screeching sound in her mind every time she walks past glass. And it takes a little bit to get used to the fact that some part of her misses it, if only because it had been part of her life for so long.

But she needs to get used to the place...and figure out just how she can get back home before Shinji and Ren inevitably get into another fight.

"My brother has to be up to something by now..."

So you might see her worrying a bit as she wanders around, trying to take stock of everything.

Vex might have been in the mood for music, much as there isn't anything entirely to his tastes. The one album that isn't full of kids is good enough, he's decided, so there he is in the hobby room finding that one. It's only by coincidence that she happens to be walking by the hobby room as this is going on.

Of course, the fact that he times starting up that first song, screams and all, so that he can see whether she jumps again is entirely intentional.

No such luck, Vex. Yui's aware enough of her surroundings that when she hears the screams, she knows exactly who's done it and fixes him with a glare.

Well, that's disappointing. Of course, he's not going to admit he was trying to make her jump.

"What? I wanted some music. Something wrong with that?"

It's true enough.

"That's not what you're trying to do, not when you're waiting for me to pass by."

Yui wasn't afraid of being direct, and she figured Vex needed to learn that.

"You're trying to get on my nerves."

And succeeding too, but she's not going to admit that.

"Lucky coincidence."

He leans back casually against the wall over by the CD player, letting the music continue on its merry way. And again, it's true enough, because he didn't have her in mind when he first went to find that CD, he just happened to see an opportunity.

"Really, you shouldn't take things so personally."

She says nothing--just gives him a raised eyebrow.

And he raises his eyebrows right back at her.

Well, that's getting her nowhere.

"Is this something you do to everyone, or do you have a reason to single me out?"

He shrugs. "Dunno. Suppose you could ask everyone else to see if my playing music bothers them."

Or whether they also think he's an asshole, which they probably do. It could potentially be a problem if she decides to talk to Alphys or Kaltz, but he's not too worried. He doesn't expect to keep his powers secret for long at this point, anyway. They're all in too close quarters.

"Why? It's not like it's going to change anything."

He's trying to bait her, and she's not going to play this game.
